GIFA is an International Franchise Association (IFA) sponsored Google event to help IFA members better understand and utilize business tools available to them to help expand their presence through digital marketing.

The extensive two day invitation only event, was attended by 250 franchise executives. Evans an IFA Technology & Marketing Committee member and Convention Committee member said, “I am thrilled to be among the select few in franchising to visit Google and hear from Google Execs and IFA thought leadersThe Google team welcomed us to Googleplex. It is easy to understand why Google is one of the best places to work. We were treated like royalty with delicious food, exciting tour, time to enjoy YouTube theme air hockey, ride Google bikes, shopping in the Google store but first and foremost  Google Executives shared their insights into leadership, innovation, adapting to change and how to seize the local search opportunity.”

Google speakers included: Bradley Horowitz, VP, Engineering, Social, Todd Rowe, Global Managing Director, Channel Sales, Ben Wood, Americas Director, Channel Sales, Jeffrey Ehrenberg, Head of People Operations, Mauro Goncalves, Head of Strategy and Operations, Google(x) and Gretchen Howard Managing Director of Global Brand Solutions.

IFA presenters included: Susan Boresow, CMO of Massage Envy, Ken Colburn, Founder and President of Data Doctors,Chris Stipp, Director of Online Marketing, Massage Envy and Darrell Johnson, President and CEO, FRANdata.

Deb enjoyed all the presentations but her key takeaways came from Gretchen Howard: “We live in a participation age, customers demand a voice and want the right to interact.  They want to comment and share. Think more like a media company and how you can use YouTube, which is a powerful vehicle to engage with your consumers. Remember it’s about the experience.”

Following Gretchen’s advice, we put together a YouTube video of some of the moments captured.
